Many people visit Yamunotri every year to take blessings of Goddess Yamuna. This tour gives you a peaceful and spiritual experience. You travel through green valleys, rivers, and hills. You also visit sacred places like Haridwar, which is one of the holiest cities in India. The journey includes road travel and a short trek. You walk around 5-6 km to reach Yamunotri Temple from Janki Chatti. If you do not want to walk, you can hire a pony or palki. This trip suits families, couples, and senior citizens who want a calm and spiritual holiday.
Yamunotri Tour Itinerary
You start your journey from Delhi in the morning. Your driver picks you up from your home, airport, or railway station. You travel by road to Haridwar. The journey takes around 5-6 hours. You enjoy the changing views from city roads to green countryside. After you reach Haridwar, you check into your hotel and take some rest. In the evening, you visit Har Ki Pauri. You attend the famous Ganga Aarti. Priests light lamps and chant prayers. The sound of bells and the sight of the river create a peaceful feeling. After Aarti, you can walk around the local market and buy small souvenirs. You return to your hotel and stay overnight in Haridwar.
You wake up early and have breakfast. Then you start your drive to Barkot. The road goes through hills, forests, and rivers. You enjoy cool weather and fresh air during the journey. On the way, you pass through Mussoorie, also known as the Queen of Hills. You can stop for a short break and enjoy the view. You also visit Kempty Falls if time allows. The waterfall looks beautiful and refreshing. After that, you continue your journey to Barkot. It is a quiet place surrounded by mountains. You check into your hotel in Barkot and relax. Dinner and overnight stay in Barkot.
This day is the main part of your tour. You wake up very early in the morning. After breakfast, you drive to Janki Chatti, which is the starting point of the trek. From Janki Chatti, you begin your trek to Yamunotri Temple. The distance is about 5-6 km. You walk on a well-made path with shops and rest points on the way. If you do not want to walk, you can take a pony, palki, or doli. When you reach Yamunotri, you visit the temple and offer prayers. Near the temple, you see Surya Kund. It is a hot water spring where devotees cook rice and potatoes as prasad. You also visit Divya Shila before entering the temple. You spend some peaceful time near the temple and enjoy the mountain view. After darshan, you trek back to Janki Chatti and return to Barkot by car. Dinner and overnight stay in Barkot.
After breakfast, you check out from the hotel and start your return journey to Haridwar. You travel through the same scenic route. You can stop at good spots for photos and tea breaks. After reaching Haridwar, you check into your hotel. In the evening, you can explore local markets or relax at your hotel. Overnight stay in Haridwar.
You wake up in the morning and have breakfast. After that, you start your journey back to Delhi. You reach Delhi by afternoon or evening, depending on traffic. Your tour ends with happy memories and spiritual peace.
