Valley of Flowers Trek Itinerary

Day 1
Haridwar - Joshimath

Your journey starts from Haridwar early in the morning. You travel by road toward the Himalayan town of Joshimath. The route passes through beautiful towns like Rishikesh, Devprayag, and Rudraprayag. You enjoy amazing views of rivers and mountains during the drive. The road runs beside the Alaknanda River for many hours. You reach Joshimath in the evening. After hotel check-in, you relax and prepare for the trek journey.

Day 2
Joshimath - Govindghat - Ghangaria

After breakfast, you drive to Govindghat. This place acts as the starting point for the Valley of Flowers trek. From Govindghat, you begin the trek toward Ghangaria. The trek route stretches about 13 km and passes through forests, bridges, and small waterfalls. You can also take a pony or helicopter service if you prefer an easier journey. You reach Ghangaria by evening. This peaceful village sits among green mountains. After dinner, you rest for the next day’s adventure.

Day 3
Ghangaria - Valley of Flowers

Today you visit the famous Valley of Flowers National Park. After breakfast, you start a short trek from Ghangaria to the valley. The valley welcomes you with colorful flowers, green grasslands, and snow-covered peaks. You may see rare flowers like blue poppy, cobra lily, and Himalayan orchids. Butterflies and birds also fill the valley. You spend a few hours exploring the natural beauty and taking photographs. Later, you trek back to Ghangaria for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4
Ghangaria - Hemkund Sahib

Early in the morning, you begin a steep trek toward Hemkund Sahib. This sacred place sits at a height of about 4,300 meters. Pilgrims visit the Gurudwara beside the holy lake. Snow-covered peaks surround the lake and create a peaceful view. Many visitors also take a dip in the icy water as part of their spiritual journey. After spending time at Hemkund Sahib, you return to Ghangaria by afternoon. You relax and enjoy dinner at the guesthouse.

Day 5
Ghangaria - Joshimath

After breakfast, you trek back from Ghangaria to Govindghat. The downhill walk feels easier and faster. From Govindghat, you drive back to Joshimath. You reach the hotel by evening and relax after the long trekking days.

Day 6
Joshimath - Haridwar

After breakfast, you start the return journey toward Haridwar. You enjoy beautiful mountain views again during the drive. You arrive in Haridwar by evening. The trip ends with wonderful memories of the Valley of Flowers trek.
