After Haridwar, the tour continues to Ukhimath, a small Himalayan town known for its religious importance and beautiful mountain views.
The next part of the journey takes you to Chopta, often called the “Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand.” From Chopta you trek to Tungnath Temple, one of the highest Shiva temples in the world. You also hike further to Chandrashila Peak, which offers stunning views of the Himalayan ranges. This 5-day trip gives you a wonderful mix of adventure, culture, and spirituality. You travel through scenic mountain roads, visit sacred temples, and enjoy the calm beauty of the Himalayas.
Uttarakhand Heritage Tour Itinerary
Your Uttarakhand Heritage Tour begins from Delhi. You drive towards Haridwar in the morning. The journey takes around 5–6 hours. During the drive, you pass through small towns, green fields, and scenic landscapes of North India. After reaching Haridwar, you check in at your hotel and take some rest. In the evening, you visit Har Ki Pauri, the most sacred ghat in the city. Devotees gather here every evening to attend the famous Ganga Aarti. Priests light large lamps and chant prayers while the sound of bells fills the air. The spiritual atmosphere creates a peaceful feeling. Later, you walk through the local market and see shops selling religious items and souvenirs. After sightseeing, you return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, you start your journey to Ukhimath. The drive takes you through beautiful mountain roads, rivers, and green valleys. The changing landscape from plains to hills makes the journey exciting. Ukhimath holds great religious importance. During winter, priests shift the idol of Kedarnath Temple to Ukhimath for worship. Many pilgrims visit this place because of its spiritual significance. After reaching Ukhimath, you check in at your hotel or guesthouse. In the evening, you can visit the local temple and enjoy peaceful views of the surrounding Himalayan mountains. The calm environment and fresh mountain air make this place very relaxing. You spend the night in Ukhimath.
Today you travel to Chopta, a small hill station known for its beautiful meadows and forests. The drive takes around one hour and offers amazing views of the mountains. From Chopta you start a trek to Tungnath Temple. The trek route stretches around 3.5 km and passes through scenic meadows and forests. Pilgrims and trekkers walk along the stone path while enjoying the fresh mountain air. Tungnath Temple stands at an altitude of about 3,680 meters and forms part of the Panch Kedar temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Devotees visit this sacred temple throughout the trekking season. After visiting Tungnath, you continue the trek for about 1.5 km to reach Chandrashila Peak. This peak offers breathtaking views of famous Himalayan peaks like Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Chaukhamba. Many visitors spend time here taking photos and enjoying the panoramic scenery. Later you trek back to Chopta and relax at your hotel or camp. You stay overnight in Chopta.
After breakfast, you leave Chopta and drive towards Rishikesh. The journey offers beautiful views of mountains, rivers, and villages along the way. After arriving in Rishikesh, you check in at your hotel. Later you visit famous attractions such as Laxman Jhula, Ram Jhula, and nearby temples. You can also walk along the riverbank and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. In the evening, you may attend the Ganga Aarti at Parmarth Niketan Ashram. The spiritual environment, devotional songs, and river views create a memorable experience. You spend the night in Rishikesh.
After breakfast, you enjoy some free time in Rishikesh. You can explore local cafes, temples, or markets near the Ganga River. Many visitors also spend time at the ghats to enjoy the calm morning atmosphere. Later you begin your return journey to Delhi. The drive takes around 5–6 hours. On arrival in Delhi, your Uttarakhand Heritage Tour ends with beautiful memories of the Himalayas, sacred temples, and peaceful river towns.
