This tour takes you to two holy places in Uttarakhand: Yamunotri and Gangotri. Many people visit these temples every year during the Char Dham Yatra. This trip starts from Delhi and covers Haridwar, Rishikesh, Barkot, Harsil, Yamunotri, and Gangotri. You travel by road and also do short treks. Gangotri Yamunotri Tour Itinerary
You start your journey early in the morning from Delhi. You drive towards Haridwar by road. The journey takes around 5 to 6 hours. You see changing views from city roads to green landscapes. After you reach Haridwar, you check into your hotel and take some rest. In the evening, you visit Har Ki Pauri. You watch the famous Ganga Aarti. The sound of bells, chanting, and lights creates a peaceful feeling. You can also take a dip in the holy river. After that, you return to the hotel. You have dinner and stay overnight in Haridwar.
After breakfast, you leave for Barkot. On the way, you stop at Rishikesh. You visit Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula. You also see the river Ganga flowing calmly. You spend some time at the ghats and temples. Then you continue your drive towards Barkot. The road takes you through hills, rivers, and small villages. After reaching Barkot, you check into your hotel. You relax and enjoy the mountain views. You have dinner and stay overnight in Barkot.
You start early in the morning and drive to Janki Chatti. This is the starting point of the Yamunotri trek. From here, you begin a trek of about 6 km. You can walk or hire a pony or palanquin. The path gives you amazing mountain views and fresh air. After reaching Yamunotri, you visit Yamunotri Temple. You offer prayers to Goddess Yamuna. You can also take a dip in the hot water springs. Many people cook rice in the hot water as a holy offering. After darshan, you trek back to Janki Chatti. Then you drive back to Barkot. You relax after a long day. You have dinner and stay overnight in Barkot.
After breakfast, you leave Barkot and drive towards Harsil. This journey offers beautiful views of mountains, rivers, and forests. Harsil is a quiet and scenic place. You enjoy apple orchards and peaceful surroundings. The Bhagirathi River flows near this village. After reaching Harsil, you check into your hotel or camp. You relax and enjoy nature. You can take a short walk around the village. You have dinner and stay overnight in Harsil.
You wake up early and have breakfast. Then you drive to Gangotri. The drive takes around 1 to 2 hours. After reaching Gangotri, you visit the Gangotri Temple. You offer prayers to Goddess Ganga. You can also take a dip in the holy river. You spend some time near the temple and enjoy the peaceful environment. Snow-covered peaks and flowing river create a divine feeling. After darshan, you return to Harsil. You relax and enjoy your evening. You have dinner and stay overnight in Harsil.
After breakfast, you start your journey back to Haridwar. The drive takes several hours but offers beautiful scenic views. You pass through mountains, rivers, and small towns. After reaching Haridwar, you check into your hotel. You can visit local markets or relax in the evening. You have dinner and stay overnight in Haridwar.
